Abstract
The reactivity of LMO3 and L′MO3 complexes as ligands has been investigated (L = C6H15N3, 1,4,7-triazacyclononane; L′ = C9H21N3, N,N′,N″-trimethyl-1,4,7-triazacyclononane; M = MoVI, WVI).
The crystal structures of [(L′MoO3)4CoII][BPh4]2· C2H5OH (1) and [(L′MoO3)4FeIII][BPh4]3· Na[BPh4] (2) have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Both the CoII and FeIII centers are in a tetrahedral environment of four oxygen atoms which are connected to L′MO2 fragments. The reaction of LMO3 complexes (M = MoVI, WVI) in aqueous solution with tetraphenylborate(1–) anions yields LMO3BPh3 or [(LMO3)2BPh2][BPh4] complexes and benzene. The crystal structures of LWO3BPh3 (3) and [(LWO3)2BPh2][BPh4] (4) have been determined.
