Abstract

As confirmed by X-ray data, the four ternary compounds CaZn2P 2, CaCd2P2, CaZn2As2, and CaCd2As2 crystallize trigonally in a CaAl2Si2-type structure. Some conditions for the existence of this structure type are given.
