Über Oxocuprate, XXI Bariumoxohalogenocuprate(II) mit Strukturbeziehungen zu BaCuO2 / About Oxocuprates, XXI Barium Oxohalocuprates(II) with Structure Relationships to BaCuO2

Abstract

Attempts to prepare BaCuO2 single crystals with a flux of BaCl2 and BaBr2 respectively lead to new oxohalocuprates(II) : Ba44Cu45O87Cl4 (A) and Ba88Cu88O175Br2 (B). Single crystals were investigated by X-ray methods (cubic unit cell: (Α) a = 1827 pm, (B) a = 1830.3 pm, space group Oh 9-lm3m). The complicated crystal structures of both compounds are discussed. There are very interesting relationships to BaCuO2.
