Abstract

The hitherto unknown compound BaAg6O4 was prepared by high pressure reactions. A single crystal X-ray examination made obvious that the BaAg6O4 compound is isotypic with the compound SrAg6O4. A detailed discussion of the relations between the structures of BaAg6O4, Ag2O, BaCu2O2 and BaO is given.
