Abstract

NbS2 and TaS2 react with amides, urea and urea derivatives to form layer intercalation complexes. 20 compounds of NbS2 and 13 compounds of TaS2 have been characterized by their lattice dimensions and limiting compositions. Partly covalent interactions between guest molecules and host lattice seem to be of importance in the formation of the compounds described.
