Abstract
Abstract
An optical high pressure cell for operation to 2.5 kbar and 250 °C has been developed enabling quantitative absorption intensities to be measured with high accuracy even on strongly absorbing fluids. Moreover, due to the capability of varying the layer thickness under high pressure and temperature substances within a wide concentration range or bands with large differences in molar absorptivity can be determined during one experimental run. The procedure is illustrated by infrared and near infrared spectra measured on pure ethylene.
