Abstract
The preparation of a new complex, dimeric nitrosobenzene-irontricarbonyl, by irradiation of Fe(CO)5 in nitrobenzene with light or 60Co-γ-rays is described. According to IR-spectroscopic data nitrosobenzene molecules are the only bridging ligands in this complex. The mechanism of the reduction of nitrobenzene to nitrosobenzene is discussed.
