Abstract
A new approach to the experimental investigation of unimolecular decay kinetics is described. It consists of a coincidence measurement of electrons and ions produced by photoionization with monochromatic light. Mass analysis of the ions and energy analysis of the electrons provide unambiguously the needed information. First results on CH4 including CH4
+, CH3
+ and CH2
+ are presented.
