Abstract
AbstractDespite being proposed over 30 years ago, the multivariate reference region (MRR) remains an interpretive tool with uncertain value in clinical practice. This paper reviews the mathematical theory of the MRR, presents topics in the clinical application of MRRs, and examines the advantages and disadvantages of MRRs. Finally, some thoughts are offered regarding future directions for work in this field.
