They discovered that the infiltration of T cells into the brain, instigated by activated microglia, is a critical factor in the progression of tauopathy. The groundbreaking findings were published in Nature on March 8, 2023. This research delineates a pivotal immune hub linked to tauopathy and neurodegeneration; a complex interplay involving activated microglia and T cell responses.
