Abstract
Na3Cu4S4 can be prepared by fusion reaction of copper with Na2CO3 and sulfur at 600 °C. The structure (orthorhombic, Pbam, a= 14,624(6), 6 = 7,163(3), c = 3,771(1)Å; Z = 2) solved from x-ray diffractometer data (R = 0,024; 391 obs. reflections) shows unlinked copper-sulfur chains of the kind already observed in two-dimensional copper-sulfur networks.
