Abstract

Abstract A new synthetic route to N-alkyl substituted thiaza- λ5, λ5-diphosphetidines 2a-c is given. NMR spectroscopy shows cis-trans isomerism for 2a and 2b. The crystal structure of trans-2c, the first example of a (P2NS)-four membered ring compound, was determined, exhibiting structural elements from 1 as well as from 3.
