Abstract
Abstract
Na3FeS3 can be synthesized by the reaction of sodium carbonate with iron sponge at 1000 K under a stream of H2S. X-ray investigation on single crystals revealed its structure. The monoclinic unit cell contains four formula units, the space group is P21/n. The iron and sulphur atoms form isolated [Fe2Se6]-anions, consisting of two edge-sharing tetrahedra, with which the sodium atoms build up a three-dimensional arrangement.
