Abstract
In isotropic mixtures of nonpolar aliphatic solvents the Debye relaxation time of rigid polar solutes is studied. It is represented by a characteristic libration frequency, an effective molecular diameter and the activation factor originating from the neighbourhood of the dipole molecule. The dependence on temperature of both relaxation time and viscosity yields a relation between them, so that a microscopic picture of the solvents cage can be given.
