Abstract
The paper discusses the thesis that the class specific socialization research of the last years suffers from stagnation, though the programme of the research in this field has not yet reached its aim to explain the relations between socio-structural constellations and the development of modal behavior patterns. The causes for this stagnation are sought both in the theoretically and empirically insufficient analysis of the socio-structural conditions, of the intra-familial communication processes, and of the concepts of individual behavior. Criticism is focussed on methodical issues, for neglecting methodical problems is considered as a specific lack of socialization research.
