Abstract

Der Einfluß von Substituenten auf die pKa-Werte von einer Reihe π-Überschuß-Heteroaromaten läßt sich gut bestimmen durch Anwendung der Hammet - Gleichung (pKa=ϱ · σ + pKa) unter Verwendung von σm für Substituenten in der 4- und 7-Stellung und σp für die 5- und 6-Stellung im Benzolring. Für Benzimidazole beschreibt σm den Einfluß von Substituenten in 2-Stellung. Die Acidität der Benzimidazole wird wesentlich mehr von Substituenten in 2-Stellung als von Substituenten im Benzol-Kern beeinflußt.
