Abstract
Particle-bound T 2 phage lysozyme and lysozyme from T 2 phage lysates are compared with each other by ultracentrifugation. The molecular weights determined by an equilibrium method and by sedimentation and diffusion coefficients are identical within the error of estimation.
Similar to egg-white lysozyme, T 2 phage lysozyme shows a pH-dependent, reversible association.
The value of the molecular weight obtained at pH 5.1 is 13 900.
