Abstract

The first bis(cyclotriphosphanyl)diorganylcyclotetraphosphane [(t-BuP)2P]2(t-Bu)2P4 (1) has been obtained by reacting (t-BuP)2PSnMe3 with PCl3, in the molar ratio 3:1. and has been isolated in pure form. Compound 1 is formed as a mixture of two configurational isomers 1a and 1b, which differ in the relative arrangement of the trans-oriented tert-butyl groups at the two three-membered rings. The constitutional isomer, in which three atom , is obviously not stable for steric reasons.
