Abstract
The preparations and characterizations of compounds SCl2F+MF6~ (M = As, Sb) are reported. They are yellowish hydrolysable solids, with a strong tendency towards symmetrization in solution. The mass spectra data indicate the formation of SCl2F2 on thermolysis. The series of SClnF3-n
+-cations (n = 0—3) is now complete, and a comprehensive discussion of the spectroscopic data is given.
