Abstract

Abstract From Colchicum ritchii R.Br (Liliaceae) of Jordanian origin, the new colchicine-type alkaloid (-)-O -methylspeciosine (1), the known alkaloid (-)-speciosine (2) and two new homoaporphine- N-oxides are isolated and characterized: (+)-kreysigine-N-oxide (5) and (+)-szovitsamine-N-oxide (6). Additinally, two photoisomers of the cholchicine alkaloids are identified after their isolation and their 1H and 13C NMR data reinvistigated: β-lumicornigerine (3) and β-lumidemecolcine (4).
