Abstract
Riboflavin-deficient mutants of S. cerevisiae, not known hitherto, were isolated using a yeast extract-peptone-dextrose medium supplemented with 10 γ riboflavin/ml. After treatment with ethylmethanesulfonate, 0,4% of the surviving cells or 2% of the isolated biochemical mutants were deficient of riboflavin.
Seven of 14 riboflavin deficient mutants were tested for temperature dependence but no such dependence was found. Two mutants accumulated a green fluorescing substance. Cross-feeding tests were not successful.
