Abstract Because of the discrepancies between different determina­tions of the half-life T of 87Rb and the importance of T for measuring geological ages we decided to compare the separat­ed isotopes. All experimental errors are the same in both cases, and the difference of the counting rates has to be attri­buted to 87Rb. In this manner we got T = (4.88 + 0.10) • 1010 y
