Abstract
Abstract
In a development programme so far stretching over five years, it has been found that a titanium oxide type electrically conductive ceramic (sold under the trade name "Ebonex") has maintained good stability as a discrete anode in the cathodic protection of rebars in concrete at current densities up to 900 mA/m2. After a number of years operation at the full rated current density, it has been shown that the recommended cementitious grout material (supplied by Atraverda under the trade name Ebofix) is resistive to acid attack, and is instrumental in improving current distribution around each anode. It is likely however that this dense material can only be used in association with a dedicated gas venting system such as that built into each EbonexR anode.
