Abstract
Numerical calculations of pressure increase in the plasma of a cylindrical arc column are presented. We assume applicability of the corona-equation. Results are given for magnetic fields up to 50 kΓ, external pressures of 10 –1 to 2·105 dyn/cm2 and temperatures up to 80 000°K. Finally, the results are compared with calculations using the SAHA-equation.
