Abstract

In the reaction of cacodylic acid (CH3)2AsOOH in the superacid system HF / MF5 (M = As, Sb) the difluorodimethylarsonium hexafluorometallates [(CH3)2AsF2]MF6 are formed and have been characterized by i.r. and Raman spectroscopy. The crystal structure of the hexafluoroantimonate has been determined at -100°C (orthorhombic space group Ibca with Z = 4, a = 10.973, b = 11.164, c = 14.200 pm).
