Abstract

The new compound Ba4Ga4S10 crystallizes in the monoclinic system, space group C2/c with the lattice constants: a = 1529.4(7) pm, b = 1479.3(7) pm, c = 858.0(5) pm, β = 106.04(5)°. In the structure there are adamantanelike Ga4S10 8- anions, isosteric to the neutral P4S10 molecules. The Ba2+ ions are coordinated by 7 S atoms
