Abstract
The reaction of tris(trimethylsilyl)methylzinc chloride with lithium triisopropylsilylphosphanide yields triisopropylsilylphosphane and bis[tris(trimethylsilyl)methylzinc]triisopropyIsilyl-phosphandiide 1. This compound is monomeric in solution as well as in the crystalline state (triklinic, space group P1̅, a = 1184,79(9),b= 1376,48(9), c - 1624,60(14) pm, α =91,909(6)°, β = 107,947(6)°, γ = 113,430(5)°, Z = 2). The Zn-P-distances of 223 pm are very short due to the small coordination numbers of the phosphorus and zinc atoms.
