Abstract
Abstract
A modified method for measuring absolute values of the refractive index and its temperature dependence is presented. A direct comparison is made between the refractive index of a liquid sample and ambient air. Values for LiNO3 , RbNO3 , and CsNO3 within a temperature interval of about 80 K above the melting point for several different wavelengths are presented as well as the calculated values of the molar refractivity and the absorption lines of the NO3
- ion.
