Abstract
The title compounds have been prepared and their structures determined. Na2AgAs crystallizes in the Na2CuAs structure type, forming infinite Ag-As-zig-zag-chains. KCuS builds up a new structure type but with similar zig-zag-chains of Cu- and S-atoms. Crystallographic data:
Na2AgAs: C2221, a= 879 ± 2 pm, 6 = 736 ± 2 pm, c = 559 ± 2 pm;
KCuS: Pna21, a = 1066 ± 2 pm, 6 = 620 ± 2 pm, c = 532 ± 2 pm.
