Abstract
MgAl2Te4, MgGa2Te4 and MgIn2Te4 were prepared by direct synthesis from the elements at 1000°C. MgIn2Te4 crystallizes tetragonal in a variation of the zincblende structure. The vacancies are ordered as in β-Cu2HgJ4, the Mg- and In-atoms are distributed randomly in the cation sites of this structure.
