Abstract

Abstract 6-(3-Acetyloxy-1-heptenyl)-5,6-dihydro-2H-pyran-2-one (= umuravumbolide), the new α-pyrone recently isolated from leaves of the central African Iboza riparia, and its diastereomer, epiumuravumbolide, were synthesised.
