Abstract

The new compounds Ca9Cd4Bi9, Sr9Cd4Bi9 and Ca9Zn4Sb9 crystallize in the orthorhombic system (Pbam) in the Ca9Mn4Bi9 structure with the following constants: Ca9Cd4Bi9: a = 2258 ± 2 pm, b = 1278 ± 1 pm, c = 474 ± 1 pm. Sr9Cd4Bi9: a = 2347 ± 2 pm, b = 1327 ± 1 pm, c = 489 ± 1 pm. Ca9Zn4Sb9: a = 2192 ± 2 pm, b = 1250 ± 1 pm, c = 454 ± 1 pm.
