Abstract

2-Organo-1,3,2-dioxaborolanediones- (4,5) RBC2O4 (R = CH3, C2H5, C6H5, C6F5) are formed from anhydrous oxalic acid and dihalogeno-organo-boranes. The five-membered ring-compounds are strong Lewis acids. The thermal degradation yields CO, CO2, and organoboroxines (RBO)3.
