Untersuchungen über das Myeloblastose-Virus des Huhnes (BAI Stamm A)

Abstract

AMV yields four species of RNA when treated with Sodium-dodecylsulfate. In sucrose gradient centrifugation, they sediment with 62, ~45, 30 and 4 —10 S respectively. The 62 S fraction contains the viral RNA proper in a relatively pure state. In the other fractions — containing some protein — host cell RNA is detected by isotopic labelling. These findings are discussed in particular with respect to results on chicken-leucosis-viruses by other authors.
