AbstractThe concepts of dual leg, unileg and transversal oxide thermoelectric harvesting devices were compared with regard to the dimensionless figure of merit calculated from published data on common dual leg oxide thermoelectric generators. The analysis shows that the application of the transversal thermoelectric effect does not significantly reduce the expected electrical output power density of thermoelectric devices utilizing thermoelectric oxides.
