Abstract

Abstract Phenyltetra(acetato)stiborane is obtained by reacting phenyldichlorostibane successively with sulfuryl chloride and silver acetate at low temperatures ( - 70 °C). An X-ray analysis of C6H5Sb[OC(O)CH3]4 shows, that the central antimony atom is hexacoordinated by chelation of one nearly symmetrically bonded acetate group, a phenyl group, and three singly-bonded acetate ligands.
