Abstract

KSiH3 in HMPT and monoglyme solutions has been investigated by 1H and 29Si NMR spectroscopy; chemical shifts and coupling constants have been measured. The polysilyl anions H3SiSiH2 , (H3Si)2SiH and (H3Si)3Si have been prepared (a) from SiH3 with excessive SiH4, (b) from SiH3 and Si3H8 and (c) from K and Si2H6 or Si3H8 in HMPT. They have been identified by 1H NMR and IR spectroscopy, and their structures are deduceable from the spectral data.
