Singlet-Exciton Energy Transfer in Naphthalene Doped with Anthracene Following Two-Photon Picosecond Excitation: Dependence on Dopant Concentration

Abstract

Abstract The time dependence of the sensitized fluorescence of anthracene-doped naphthalene crystals following two-photon picosecond excitation was studied for various dopant concentrations. The experimental results indicate that the characteristic of the energy transfer rate is significantly different for different anthracene concentrations. This behaviour is discussed in terms of different transfer mechanisms taking place at low and high dopant concentrations.
