Abstract
Ethylene dithioketals in positions 1, 2 and 3 of 19β,28-epoxy-18α-oleanane were prepared and reduced with deuterated Raney-nickel. The mass spectra of dithioketals and corresponding 1,1-, 2,2- and 3,3-dideuterio derivatives were studied and discussed with the possibility of localizing the functional group in the A ring.
