IMPACT OF AUGMENTED REALITY SYSTEM ON STUDENTS’ PERFORMANCE IN HEALTH EDUCATION

Abstract

This study aims to present a synthesis of the studies on mobile augmented reality in health education with a critical approach and to develop suggestions for future researchers. The use of mobile augmented reality technology has improved in teaching and teaching methods recently, several scientific articles and researchers have shown how this new technology has a positive impact on education and improving learning and teaching methods, as well as a positive effect on students. This study aims to investigate the effect of the use of augmented reality in health education on students' performance by presenting an application and measuring students' perspectives on the use of this technology and its use as an educational tool in teaching-learning for this purpose, an Anatomy application based on anatomy lesson was designed with Unity 3d platform, blender and after effect and they were asked to experience the augmented reality application prepared following their 150 Health Services Vocational department experiences. The results of the research show that students respond positively to the use of technology and (76%) believe that the use of technology in the learning-teaching process will increase their performance, and (79%) it is recommended use AR applications as an educational tool in the classroom. They also stated that universities and higher education institutions should pay more attention to the information acquisition dimensions of this technology
