Abstract
Introduction:
Pathologic conditions occurring in the head and neck region might be of an inflammatory nature, developmental or neoplastic origin. Dermoid cysts in the oral cavity are reported to be uncommon and are thought to arise due to entrapment of ectodermal and endodermal elements along embryonic lines of fusion during development.
A recurrent case of dermoid cyst occupying the entire floor of mouth with herniation as submental component causing a neck swelling has been reported. Cyst was removed entoto through a transoral approach and followed up for a period of one year.
The treatment plan was based on pre-operative diagnosis, type of pathology, and patient related factors such as age, associated co-morbidities etc. On the one year follow-up, the patient presented with fulfilment of treatment goals
