Abstract
Patients might have teeth that are extremely mobile and/or misaligned. If multiple teeth are retained with different long axes, retrieving the impression could dislodge some of the teeth for which the long axes are inconsistent with the path of removal.
In this case series, three different impression materials are used, which are low viscosity PVS (Polyvinylsiloxane), PE (Polyether) and irreversible hydrocolloid. The impression has been made to record Grade III mobile teeth. These materials quickly polymerize and do not adhere to each other intraorally. The impression is separated in three different directions to prevent any movement of the mobile teeth and reassembled extra orally before pouring.
This article describes various simple and safe methods to make impressions of extremely mobile teeth.
