A UNIQUE CASE REPORT OF AGGRESSIVE CENTRAL GIANT CELL GRANULOMA OF THE MANDIBLE TREATED WITH CONSERVATIVE SURGICAL ENUCLEATION WITH LONG TERM FOLLOW-UP

Abstract

Central Giant Cell Granuloma (CGCG) is an intrabony lesion showing cellular fibrosis with numerous foci of haemorrhage, woven bone trabeculae and multinucleated giant cells. It is more commonly found in the mandible than maxilla. Among all benign tumours of jaw, it accounts for less than 7%. According to the reports, in approximately 48% cases, it is diagnosed in the first two decades of life and in almost 60% cases, before 30 years of age. This paper presents a case of CGCG involving the mandibular left anterior region of a female patient with clinical, radiological, histopathological and surgical aspects of the lesion.
