Abstract
Healthcare services for all are still a distant dream in our country. Even though, with growing knowledge and education, many myths still pervade in society to the point that it affects people’s attitude ,behavior and quality of life. These hurdles are to be removed for people to utilize the available resources. Therefore, the objective of this review is to give an idea about the common prevalent myths or taboos related to dentistry among the general population. Creating awareness about these myths and its related facts would help our people to break the misconceptions that has been passed on to generations.
