Abstract
The purpose of this article is to analyze the problems of regional cooperation in Central Asia under the conditions of globalization. The word globalization is usually a characteristic rather than an analytical category. Novelty, directions and ideas of the research. In this regard, the article focuses on positive and normative analysis of globalization. Special attention is paid to trade, environment, finance and gender issues. The preferred situation is a global governance structure based on principles of both economic efficiency and social justice; however, the current disrupted globalization process is likely to end in regionalism or even national protectionism and competition. Multilateral cooperation based on the rationale advanced here is an urgent necessity. For Central Asia, such multilateral regional cooperation poses particular challenges. This article therefore explores possibilities for addressing such challenges. The article uses factor analysis and synthesis methods. The article also analyzes the unique aspects of the interaction of political and economic factors in the context of globalization to identify specific challenges and opportunities for the countries of Central Asia.
