In the absence of a post-war population census only rough estimates exist of the population distribution in both entities. According to some estimates, over 110,000 non-Serbs lived in the Republika Srpska in 1998, which constitutes approximately 12%. In the Federation some 450,000 Serbs and Others' lived in 1998, i.e. approx. 17%. These numbers did increase substantially in 1999 and 2000.
