1. Robinson Locke Scrapbooks
2. Much of the material cited in this article is drawn from the Robinson Locke Scrapbooks on Olga Nethersole (v. 1-4) held at the Billy Rose Theatre Collection, New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, New York City. These are professionally compiled scrapbooks, but many clippings are only partially identified, labelled by hand, or not at all. Due to the fragility of the scrapbooks they are only available on microfilm and original page numbers are mostly illegible. They constitute the most complete record of Nethersole’s reception in the United States. Unless otherwise noted, clippings are from volume 1. Where incomplete reference information is available I have numbered the clippings.
3. Nethersole, Olga. 1900. “I Thank the Women Men Will Follow.” Unidentified in Locke, cited as New York World, February 18 in Houchin.
4. “Olga Nethersole Indicted with Managers.” 1900. New York World, March 23. (Includes full text of indictment).
5. “Rev. Dr. Newell Hillis Scores the Sapho Plague.” 1900. New York World, February 19.
