Ancillary Services and Teachers’ Performance of Misamis Oriental Division: Basis for School Management Plan

Abstract

The study focuses on the impact of ancillary services and teachers' performance on teaching efficiency. It highlights the importance of creating a positive and supportive environment for teachers, categorized into heavy, medium, and light loads of ancillary services. The research, conducted in the districts of Misamis Oriental Division, aimed to assess the relationship between ancillary services and teaching performance across various domains such as Content Knowledge, Pedagogy, Learning Environment, Curriculum Planning, Assessment, and Professional Development. The study involved 481 elementary and secondary teachers selected through a stratified random sampling method. Findings revealed a significant correlation between ancillary services and teaching performance, with age, sex, educational attainment, and years of service playing crucial roles. The research emphasized the need for early exposure to professional standards in teachers' careers, highlighting personal growth and professional development as key indicators of teaching performance. Recommendations included the implementation of a three-year management plan, review of ancillary service distribution, and the establishment of mentoring support systems to address ancillary service challenges.
