General Oncology Care in Kuwait

Abstract

AbstractThe State of Kuwait is an active member of the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Cancer care has taken its leadership for more than 50 years by establishing the first cancer center in the region called Kuwait Cancer Control Center (KCCC). The healthcare system in Kuwait has rapidly evolved over the last two decades with more specialized healthcare professionals and dedicated services entering the system. This chapter focuses on different aspects of cancer care in Kuwait, starting from demographic and epidemiological data, the set-up of the healthcare system in Kuwait with more focus on the multidisciplinary cancer care ending up with future directions.
