Abstract
AbstractThis chapter begins to argue the case that Jacobs made valuable and relevant contributions to economic theory. It describes the nature of her contributions and their relation in particular to market-process economics, and posits that the theory of society underlying market-process economics also underlies Jacobs’s economics and critique of planning. Subsequent chapters develop this argument in detail.
